The deposit creation process is simple. Store locations can log-on to the DTS® system via an internet or intranet enabled computer and create a deposit. Once the store employee goes through the four steps of the deposit creation wizard, they then print out the DTS® deposit document and slide it into the deposit bag. At this point in the process, the deposit is now live on the web and is viewable by anyone who has rights to view it. The DTS® system is able to support multiple deposit creation methods, fitting into virtually all retail environments.
DTS® Deposits brings together information from store locations, armored carrier partners and banking partners to provide a full-line of sight into your deposit process. The system tracks the time and details for five unique statuses: creation, armored carrier received, bank received, bank credited, and bank verified. Every deposit created across a retailer's footprint is viewable on the DTS® tracking screen. Additionally, the DTS® system is programmed upon setup with the times each status is supposed to occur. Because the system has both the scheduled time and the actual times, it indicates whether events have occured and if they happened on time.
By tracking your deposit along the chain of custody, the DTS® system contains a wealth of useful deposit information. It stores deposit denominational detail, the identities of all parties who handled the deposit, timeliness of each stage of the deposit process, and adjustment details. All of this information is at the corporate staff's fingertips to respond quickly and efficiently to missing deposits, deposit adjustments, and deposit irregularities. Moreover, the system enables proactive action to be taken for these issues by using built in "alerts" that can be triggered when designated events like no armored pick-up, and adjustments occur. The alerts can be sent to key personnel via email to start the resolution process immediately without waiting for weekly and monthly reports.
There are several tools built in to the DTS® system that assist in the resolution of deposit issues by integrating communication between store and corporate personnel. DTS® Notes is one that keeps a running log of comments made about a particular deposit. Both corporate and store personnel can leave notes and keep track of all follow-up to ensure that deposit issues are resolved quickly. DTS® Message Center is another tool that enables corporate personnel to send critical messages to those in the field.
There are over 25 reports built into the DTS® system that detail information surrounding timeliness, adjustments, employee performance, armored car perfomance and bank performance. Each report can be easily downloaded to an Excel file.
