Reducing Losses

A retailer, who is moving toward a full rollout of DTS® Deposits, believes the DTS® system will help the company reduce losses by 3 million dollars. This retailer uses DTS® sub-deposits to track their Point of Sale (POS) overs and shorts. If there is a POS discrepancy with their cash deposit, their personnel are required to enter the reason for the mismatch. However, if the discrepancy is greater than a certain amount, an alert is generated and sent to regional managers for follow-up. To facilitate communication between the regional managers and the store staff, the customer is using DTS® Notes to keep a log of all communications so that headquarters’ can hold all parties accountable for resolving the POS discrepancies. Through using the DTS® service, this retailer will have greater oversight and broader access to information that will help find and prevent losses at the store level.
